Meet the coaches
Glenn
Glenn is a consultant anaesthetist and recently retired having had 20 years in clinical leadership and 10 years as Medical Director at a Specialist Trust. During that time he learned some important lessons and hopes his experience might be useful to share with the next generation of clinical leaders. To facilitate this he qualified as a Masters equivalent executive coach with ILM, and is a trained civil mediator.
He believes that good clinical leadership is key to the survival of the NHS and his passion is to help clinical leaders to survive and thrive in what can be a really difficult role.
His experience and skillset make him well placed also to help doctors in difficulty, particularly when concerns are raised around their conduct.
Tolu
Tolu is a Consultant General Paediatrician .She is currently the Clinical Director of the General Paediatrics Department and Clinical Lead of the Virtual Ward. She led the Trainees Mentoring Scheme at the Trust for many years and she continues to facilitate Train the Trainers workshop for Educational Supervisors and Medical Appraisal Update workshops. She is a Mentoring Champion with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and registered mentor with the North West Leadership Academy. She is a trained coach who has special interest in enhancing interpersonal & professional relationships in the workplace, supporting new consultants and clinical leaders as well as coaching clinicians who require extra support to navigate their career path.
Carolyn
Carolyn is a qualified Level 7 Executive and Leadership Coach with extensive experience in healthcare and leadership. Having worked with numerous healthcare professionals, Carolyn understands the unique challenges faced by physicians, including the demands of clinical practice, leadership responsibilities, and the emotional toll of the profession. With a compassionate and results-oriented approach, Carolyn provides personalised and group/team coaching to help refine clinical skills, master leadership, manage stress and burnout, navigate career transitions, and build resilience and mental well-being. By drawing on years of experience in healthcare and coaching, Carolyn provides a supportive and confidential space to explore goals, overcome obstacles, and help doctors and the wider multidisciplinary team to achieve their full potential.
